To keep white wine cold, decant half a bottle of white wine into "The BOTTLE" and place in a steel walled insulating cooler. Put the remainder back in the fridge. When empty, refill "The BOTTLE", with the remaining half.
To keep red wine cool, ensure the red wine is just below a cool serving temperature, decant the wine and place "The BOTTLE" in a steel walled insulating cooler. Or leave the wine to breathe and place it in the fridge door for 15 minutes before serving to bring the temperature back down to below room temperature.
Taking the cork out of the bottle to let the wine breathe is an urban myth. To truly aerate wine, you need to pour it to bring out the aromas and flavours and help maximise your enjoyment. Even the most everyday wine can benefit from being decanted, white as well as red - and even rosé.
A great deal is made of the artistic nature of some decanters, and of course they can look beautiful. But they can also be cumbersome and tricky to clean. In fact, the shape plays little role in the aeration of the wine. It’s the act of pouring that does the trick and help flavour to flourish. Around Wine offers PRODUCT BUNDLES with "The BOTTLE" to speed up aeration if required. "The BOTTLE" takes inspiration from the nostalgic and comforting familiarity of a shape that’s been part of Olly's kitchen since as far back as he can remember. Olly had been hunting for the perfect decanter for years and after a lengthy search, decided to design his own with Daniel Primack from Around Wine.
